On September 9, 2015, Apple announced many new devices and accessories for their devices on their annual event that originally focused on announcing and promoting the company’s latest iPhone.
Alongside their new iPhone, Apple has announced an Apple TV, an iPad Pro, new Apple Watch models, and their brand new watchOS 2.
Now let’s start on our tour in the event from the start of it.
As usual, the event started with the CEO on stage Tim Cook, but it was very obvious from his excitement that the event was going to be a big event –because Apple CEO Tim Cook skipped the part where he updates the people on the advancements of Apple and announced “We are about to make some monster announcements across several of our product lines”.
Then he started talking about the Apple Watch and how it is “changing people’s lives”. Apple showed many magnificent features in the apple watch and announced that there are over 10,000 applications on the Apple watch and many more to come. One of the biggest news about the Apple watch is that Apple has made partnership with Hermes to create a collection of bands for their Watches, called Apple Watch Hermes, and announced that the WatchOS 2 will be available on the 16th of September.
After finishing the speech about the Apple Watch it’s time for the iPad to take its place in the event.
“The biggest news in iPad, since iPad” – Tim Cook said.
A video showing the new iPad was played, that’s the iPad pro. The iPad pro looks larger than the iPad Air (12.9” display) with 2732×2048 – 5.6 million pixels. They said it has more pixels than the 15” MacBook Pro. With the brand new A9x processor chip that powers the iPad, which is considered 1.8x faster than the old A8x Processor, and 2x larger graphics performance. It comes with a 10 hours battery life, and a full-size software keyboard (with the numbers above the keyboard). It has four speakers system. They announced the iPad Pro’s smart keyboard accessory and a stylus called Apple Pencil. A video was shown explaining how precise and responsive it is. It can detect force and tilt, and it can be recharged using the lightening connector by connecting it to the iPad Pro. The starting price of the iPad pro is 799$ and 99$ for the Apple Pencil.
Cook got back on the stage and started talking about the Apple TV.
For the Apple TV, there was a new remote and you can use Siri on the new Apple TV. The remote has a TrackPad that lets you scrub the video and scroll in the menus. They fixed the issue of pressing the buttons with this TrackPad feature in the remote. It’s a brand new Apple TV.
Now for the main event: the release of their annual phone, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus! -As described by Apple CEO Tim Cook “The most advanced phones ever”-
This year Apple didn’t concentrate on the phone design, but they have emphasized on interior hardware design and added a new color to their collection, the beautiful “rose gold” color, but for the looks the iPhone 6s looks identical to the last year’s iPhone 6 and 6Plus.
On the list of the features they added to their new iPhone, the brand new 3d touch display that responses to the user touch on the screen. It is almost like the force touch TrackPad introduced in the early 2015 MacBook.
For the interior hardware, they replaced the old chip with the A9x chip as mentioned above with the iPad pro, but with a 64-bit architecture. Apple enhanced the iSight camera to a 12 megapixels, a camera that is capable of taking a 4K videos and live photos – I would say almost like the ZOE feature introduced in the HTC – and an enhanced front camera from a 1.2 megapixels to 5 megapixels.
That’s it for the hardware upgrades but for the software they introduced the new iOS 9; a software that is capable of much as Apple mentioned in their website.
Conclusion
From the event we managed to get grip of the main events and the releases of the OS X El Capitan, iOS 9, WatchOS 2, Apple’s partnership with Hermes, the new Apple TV, the iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, Apple Keyboard and Finally the magnificent iPhone 6s. We always know Apple for their creativity and innovation and being the first of their kind.
